London Stansted airport is one of the newest airports in London. Approval to build the airport was given in 1985 and it was expected to handle around 8 million passengers. Today it is hub of European air travel to and from the UK. London Stansted airport currently handles Easyjet, Ryanair and other budget airlines. These airlines are hugely successful and very popular. You may even find some of the airfares to be cheaper than the airport taxi or transfer service into central London. The shortest route to central London is around 65 KM.
